Jennifer Lopez Tops Forbes 2012 List of 100 Most Powerful Celebrities

American pop star and recording artiste Jennifer Lopez has topped the Forbes annual list of 100 most powerful celebrity for 2012, usurping the position from Lady Gaga who claimed the title last year, but now ranks fifth.

The 42 year old singer jumped a staggering 50 places to sit at No. 1 on the list released on Wednesday 16, 2012 with her $52 million worth of earnings over the past year, which she acquired, according to Forbes through her appearance as a judge on the popular ‘American Idol’ television show, a new clothing line and an upcoming tour.

Following closely behind Lopez is TV host and business mogul Oprah Winfrey who raked in a whopping $165 million and as a result maintained her No. two spot from last year. Although Winfrey has admitted struggling with her OWN TV network after ending "The Oprah Winfrey Show" last year after 25 years, she has continued to make headlines.
