Northern Governors Support Gen. Buhari's 'Volatile' Statements

"God willing, by 2015, something will happen. They either conduct a free and fair election or they go a very disgraceful way. If what happened in 2011 (alleged rigging) should again happen in 2015, by the grace of
God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood.’’

Buhari reportedly told members of the CPC from Niger State who had paid him a courtesy visit in Kaduna on Wednesday May 16th.

Despite the severe criticisms that this statement generated from the Federal Government, 19 Northern governors have actually stuck out their necks in favour of Buhari stating that his comment was in order.

According to reports, the 19 northen governors told journalists on Friday 18 May 2012 that Buhari only made the statement to keep the FG on its toes as this will prompt free and fair elections, come 2015.

Wouldn't have expected less from the Federal government, statements from an elder statesman like Buhari should be taken very seriously, hence its befuddling, why these northern governors chose to support such a 'strong' and somewhat 'negative' comment.

Your take!
