American pop singer Janet Jackson has signed on as an executive producer of a documentary that will border on the lives of transgender people living around the world.
It was announced on Monday June 4 2012 by New York-based Brainchild Films that Jackson was working on “Truth” and would host some of the on-camera interview of transgender persons. The documentary would focus on the challenges and lives of transgender people and would start production this summer.
The documentary will be directed by Robert Jason, who previously directed a documentary for The Style Network on four transgender New Yorkers. Jason says "Truth" will feature stories from throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Latin America.
Jackson disclosed in a statement that she is working on the project to try to stop discrimination of the transgender community.
The 46-year-old sister of Michael Jackson has starred in several movies to her credit and has won five Grammy Awards.
