The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar today, disclosed that the four students of UNIPORT tortured and lynched by members of Aluu Community some weeks ago were not robbers.
In a statment made available by the IGP on Monday 15 October, 2012, it was gathered that the investigations carried out by the police gave credence to the believe of many Nigerians that Loyd, Tekena, Ugonna and Chidiaka had gone to Aluu community that fateful morning to demand for money allegedly owed them by one Coxson Lelebori Lucky who is now at large.
It was Coxson also known as Bright that raised a false alarm that the the boys were robbers, leading to their gruesome murder. The police boss however assured that Bright would be tracked down.
The statement also disclosed that 4 members of the community : Chigozie Samuel Evans, Cynthia Chinwo, Ozioma Abajuo and Felemo Solomon were directly involved in the dastardly act. The community chief of Aluu, Alhaji Hassan Welewa was also fingered as the one who spurred the mob to torture the boys.
May the souls of the departed rest in peace.
Now that we know the obvious truth, all the people named in the investigation must be charged to court and their trial must be televised. Justice must take its full course.
